Clean Your Oven Without Expensive Chemicals

Whether it\’s stuck-on grease or dried food scraps, a dish sponge and regular detergent won\’t do much. So we often go out and buy powerful cleaners, which may indeed remove the stain, but leave an unpleasant, artificial smell for days after the oven is opened. Not to mention the environmental impact. Even the most commonly used ingredients in the home kitchen can handle the dirtiest of ovens and still be safe for our health.

Instead of expensive cleaners that are not very environmentally friendly, you can get by with regular baking soda. Baking soda is versatile for cleaning and can easily handle dirt, stuck-on grease, and even limescale. So how do you use baking soda to remove grease stains stuck to the inside of an oven?

Place about ½ cup of baking soda in a bowl and add a tablespoon of vinegar and water to it. The vinegar will cause the mixture to foam slightly. Using rubber gloves or a brush, apply the paste to the affected area of the oven and let it sit until the next day at the most. This process can also be accelerated by setting the oven to the lowest setting.

Grease and scorch marks can be easily removed with a damp cloth. This can easily be done without the use of a wire cloth and does not require any extra effort. It also does not scratch the inside of the oven.

Do the same when cleaning other areas of the oven, such as the glass door and grill net. These are best removed and cleaned separately, as they are easily cleaned of grease. Before cleaning, soak them in boiling water for a few minutes to remove some of the grease. Then use a sponge and dishwashing detergent.

If you have a similar problem with your microwave, simply add a little lemon juice to a bowl of water and turn on the oven for a few minutes.
