Today, bold, colorful patterns are on the market, and young and older generations It is gaining popularity. The advantage of wallpaper is that it can cover some of the unevenness of the substrate, and the textures and patterns, whether classic paper, vinyl, or added fiberglass, stand out at a glance. Three-dimensional materials and classic photographic wallpaper also sell well.
The most widely used today is the so-called wave roll, which can be washed with some water and forms a continuous layer on the wall as a partial sound and thermal barrier. Vinyl is extremely durable, can be easily applied to any surface, and has the advantage of perfectly covering unevenness and cracks in masonry and plaster substrates. Unfortunately, vinyl materials are plastic and therefore impermeable, making them especially unsuitable for bedrooms and rooms where small children sleep.
Installation Procedure
Installation is very simple and can be done by anyone. The most difficult part is the preparation of the substrate, especially the removal of old wallpaper. This task can be easily accomplished by using a very ordinary vinegar mixed with water in the same proportion. Before wallpaper is applied, the substrate must be clean, free of peeling paint or plaster, and above all dry. Absorbent surfaces should be primed and non-absorbent surfaces should not be greased.
For the actual installation, a room temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius should be sufficient, and the room should be ventilated but not drafty. In addition, the room should not be too humid and must be kept dry. The adhesive is applied with a brush or roller, but some wallpapers are applied directly on top of the wallpaper and then layered, or layered one on top of the other on the wall, mainly according to the instructions.
Cutting is done with a technical knife according to a ruler, which is more accurate than cutting with scissors. The actual laying is proceeded slowly and carefully, logically, from top to bottom, smoothing out air bubbles with a fine brush from the center to the sides. If laid accurately, each piece can be tied so that they do not overlap, but it must be remembered that the paper roll material expands when soaked and shrinks when dry.
