Avoiding Burglary

Dogs deter thieves

If you have a four-legged pet, you\’re in good hands. If you have a dog near your house, most thieves will be afraid of it. At least, if the dog barks, it will wake up the neighbors. If you don\’t have a furry pet, you can fool potential thieves. You can hang the famous “Beware of Dogs” sign on your gate. Most people will be scared and won\’t risk a wolfdog or Rottweiler jumping out of the bushes.

Don\’t share your holidays onlinepáčení dveří.jpg

While it is certainly nice to share photos from the beach with your family, unfortunately, you may not always get a happy response. Many people will know exactly where you are and how long you have been there, and that is not helpful at all. Thieves usually play it safe and nothing surprises them. If you don\’t want your apartment to be empty when you return from vacation, protect your privacy first and foremost. If you share your vacation photos online after the delay, you may be even happier to see what you and your family experienced.

Quality windows, doors, and locks

Invest in high quality locks with class 3 or 4 security pads that are very time-consuming for thieves to pick. In most cases, such security will deter burglars. They should also install doors, windows, and, if they own the house, good quality outdoor lighting.

If you are going away on an extended vacation, nothing is easier than having your property taken care of. If you own a house and offer to have a family member or friend look after it, you probably won\’t be turned down. You could barbecue in the yard, take a dip in the pool, in short, offer them the house for a little vacation. In return, you get a good night\’s sleep and don\’t have to worry. Not having your house cleaned when you arrive is the equivalent of having half your house burglarized. And you are one step ahead of the thief.
