We\’re people. And so we don\’t just live somewhere. If we do live, it\’s usually in a house or an apartment. Logically, since this is what is considered normal living in our country, and we have to live normally in order to be treated as equals by other people. Those who don\’t live are out of luck and have neither comfort nor social prestige.
So no one normal can not live. And that\’s probably why this wonderful and cursed housing is so expensive. People can\’t just turn it down when it\’s beyond their financial means and wait for developers to make it cheaper. And they\’ve driven prices incredibly high. So high that a lot of us just won\’t buy houses and apartments anymore. And so we go into debt and debt and the sellers collect and collect.
So people have their houses and apartments. And with them, they often have millions of dollars of debt that will burden them for decades of their lives. And sometimes those debts can\’t even be paid off, unfortunately. But still, we sacrifice that kind of big money just to buy a house or an apartment. To have a place to live, a place to raise our children and a place to die.
But what about those who don\’t live anywhere? They can only be happy that it doesn\’t cost them anything. But try being homeless. We can\’t begrudge the homeless here anything else. Nor do we envy them. And society doesn\’t begrudge them their fate either, so sometimes it helps them. Some get a hostel, some sleep in a charity in the winter.
But there are still plenty of people who have nowhere to go. We meet them at railway stations, on the streets, on canals and meadows, wherever they can, where they can\’t be driven out. Or at least they won\’t for a while. And that must be enough to keep them warm.
Anyone who\’s had the pleasure of meeting homeless people will tell you that it\’s usually not pleasant to come face to face with one. And we\’d better avoid these people. They\’re a nuisance. Even if sometimes it\’s not their fault. Houses and flats are expensive and these people just couldn\’t afford them or lost them. And they\’re proof of how important it is to have a house or an apartment.
